Robert Schefman

A native Detroiter, Robert Schefman lived and worked in New York City for 13 years and returned to Detroit in 1989. Schefman's solo exhibitions have been held at the U.N. Plaza, Aesthetic Arrest, Lemberg Gallery, Robert Kidd Gallery, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Midland Center for the Arts, Charach Epstein Museum, and the Meadow Brook Gallery at Oakland University.  He has been awarded grants from the Pollack-Krasner Foundation, the Benard Maas Foundation, the Arts Foundation of Michigan, the State of Michigan Creative Artist Grant and the University of Iowa Graduate Senate. His works are in the collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts, the 19th District Court in Dearborn, Ford Arts Center, Wayne State University, the Cooley Law School, the University of Iowa as well as in private collections in Detroit, New York City, Boca Raton, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
