Hartmut Austen

Born and raised in Germany, Harmut Austen has exhibited nationally and internationally, in Bielefeld, Berlin, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Toronto, among other places.  In his works, he often uses fictional and non-fictional motifs that he transforms through fragmentation and intuition into simplified, often strongly colored compositions.  He is a member of the artist collective, "Telegraph."  His recent shows include a two person exhibition at Giola Gallery in Chicago and an exhibition with the Telegraph Collective at the Oakland University Art Gallery.
