Specializing in American literature, film and visual culture, Joy Burnett has taught writing in Detroit since 2000. Her area of expertise is late 19th and early 20th century literature. She previously worked as a journalist and editor with a variety of magazines, newspapers and advertising agencies. A fiction writer, she has several novels in progress. Burnett teaches Writing for Art and Design at CCS, in addition to teaching at Wayne State University.
