A field archeologist, freelance consultant and author, William Peck teaches Egyptian Art and Medieval Studies. He has participated in excavations at the site of Mendes in the Egyptian Nile Delta and the Temple Precinct of Mut at Karnak (Luxor, Egypt). Peck is an art historian and Egyptologist, and has taught art history at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, University of Michigan and University of Windsor. Formerly a curator of Ancient Art at the Detroit Institute of Art, Peck has written many articles in popular and scholarly publications, and has authored three books: Drawings from Ancient Egypt; The Detroit Institute of Arts: A Brief History; and Splendors of Ancient Egypt.
