Rick Vian is an abstract and landscape painter who teaches at CCS, Wayne State University and Oakland Community College. He has had numerous one- and two- person shows and has exhibited nationally in juried shows and galleries since 1970. He began teaching in 1972 and for 25 years owned and operated a mural and decorative painting company. Vian started out at the Cass Corridor in Detroit with a show at the Willis Gallery and later participated in several historically important group shows including, <em>The Forsythe Saga and Detroit Artists' Invitational</em>. Since then he has been continually active as an artist.
