Erik Olson is an exhibiting fine arts painter, painting images that explore buildings and structures as portraits alone, or as companions to figures and human portraits as personal and societal statements. Olson has been showing in various group shows in California and Michigan, and has had a solo exhibition at the Art House in Northville, Michigan.
Prior to coming to Michigan, Olson was a freelance illustrator in Los Angeles and New York with clients including Walt Disney, Warner Bros. Records, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Universal Studios, Berkley Books, McMillan Books, Avon Books, DAW Books, Doubleday Books, Sony Corp., Nintendo Inc., Sega/Genesis Inc., Atari Corp., DHL Express, Knotts-Berry Farm, Keds Inc., Disneyland Inc., McDonald's Inc.,TSR. Inc., I Motion Software, Crystal Cruise Lines, Hanna/Barbara Studios, Franklin Mint, Encyclopedia Brittanica, Million Man March Inc. and many more.
Currently, Olson is working as a full time associate professor in CCS's Illustration department.
