Nancy Barr has worked as an assistant curator in the graphic art department of the Detroit Institute of Arts since 1993. Barr, a specialist in photography, curated and co-curated exhibitions for the Detroit Institute of Arts, the International Center for Photography in New York, and the Center for Photography at Woodstock. Her most recent projects include Dawoud Bey: Detroit Portraits and Fresh: Youth Culture in Contemporary Photographs. Her publications include articles for Big Magazine, The Bulletin of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Dialogue, and Photography Quarterly.
