Carrie Marchand graduated from CCS in 1998 with a BFA in Industrial Design, with a concentration in Product Design. In 2003 she decided to return to CCS to pursue her love of ceramics, completing a second BFA in 2008. Since then, she has shown her work around the Metro Detroit area and has won several awards. Marchand began teaching at CCS in 2000 in the Continuing Education Department and later within the Industrial Design Department.
Marchand began her career at General Motors as a Digital Sculptor in 1999. In her 14 years, she has worked on various concept vehicle interiors including the 2000 Buick LaCrosse, 2002 Saturn Sky, & the 2007 Chevy Volt. She has also worked on many production vehicles such as the 2002 Saturn Ion, 2005 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevy Silverado, & 2010 Chevy Volt. She has contributed work on several Specialty Vehicles for events around the country, including SEMA. She was responsible for an animation for the global premier of the 2000 Buick LaCrosse and was involved in the animation for the 2002 Saturn Sky show car, shown at the Chicago Auto Show. She has also been the Lead Digital Mentor to the summer sculpting interns for the last several summers.
