Dr. Stefan Cieply
Stefan Ciepły is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Liberal Arts where he teaches media and visual culture studies. In addition to CCS, Ciepły has taught at the University of Virginia, the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and the University of Michigan among others. His primary research specialty is in the history of the Post-WWII American advertising industry with secondary interests in the history of graphic design, American print culture, and contemporary mass media. His research has been published in Gender and History. One of Ciepły’s current projects is titled The Technicians of Desire: Lifestyle Professionals and the Making of the Postmodern Consumer.
