Bookstore Assistant - Part time

Reports to: Bookstore Manager

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for assisting the store manager and assistant managers at both campus bookstores, as well as support a close working relationship with all campus consticuencies to insure quality service to students, faculty and staff.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Cash register operation;
  • Greet and assist customers;
  • Stocking, pricing and maintaining store appearance;
  • Assist with visual merchandising and store displays;
  • Assist in processing and shipping online orders;
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in business related field;
  • One to two years retails experience required;
  • Excellent customer relation, organization and communication skills;
  • Ability to work with a diverse student and campus environment;
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes, climb ladder and perform other labor tasks;
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required;
  • Proficient computer skills to include: Excel, Microsoft Word, Email;
  • Accounting experience desirable;
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and web design skilly highly desirable;
  • Reliable, dependable and punctual;
