Coordinator Training and Development

Position Summary:

The Coordinator works directly with the Director Academic Technologies in faculty support for hardware and software use; support and training in core academic applications; research, evaluation, and testing of emerging technologies; consulting on innovative uses of technology in teaching and adoption of new technologies; and scheduling of events.

  • Train faculty in campus academic systems such as Blackboard, Luna, Adobe Connect web conferencing, e‐mail, and Microsoft Office Software, with emphasis on effective pedagogical application
  • Research and test emerging technologies and provide reports/evaluations to Director
  • Coordinate all needs for web meetings and provide full support for web conferencing
  • Develop training materials and documentation
  • Lead training workshops and meet one-on-one with faculty for custom training
  • Schedule and coordinate training, technology programs on campus, and meetings
  • Help develop and support online courses; train and support faculty for effective teaching in the online environment
  • Work with Director on assessing possible technology implementations
  • Work with Director on effective adoptions of technology in teaching
  • Classroom support for technology

Job Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Course Management Systems; preferred experience with Blackboard
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Expertise with both PC and Apple computers
  • Background and experience in Higher Education teaching
  • Background and experience in teaching with technology
  • Experience in online teaching and/or training
  • Experience in web conferencing
  • Familiarity with Adobe Software a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot general classroom technology issues
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and procedures to audiences of diverse experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and general office skills
