The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for the position of Crafts full-time faculty - Glass. This position reports to the Chair of the Crafts Department and is responsible for the administration and management of the Glass studio and curriculum. A “three/three” teaching load is required. Additionally, the candidate’s work is expected to demonstrably contribute to the efficient running of the Crafts Department.
Applicants must be active, practicing artists with a very strong exhibiting record. The preferred candidate will be well versed in the techniques, processes, and contemporary trends specific to the glass discipline as an aesthetic in its own right and in multi-media applications. Familiarity with commercial applications of studio glass is also highly desirable. Candidates must have an MFA in the field of glass with a minimum of five years teaching experience in an accredited university or college of art and design. Timeliness and attention to administrative detail are key requirements of the position, as is maintaining clear communication and a collaborative relationship with the Department Chair.
Subject to final budgetary approval, this position will be filled by the start of the 2013/2014 academic year. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
