Graphic Design Full-Time Faculty Interaction Design
Positions Summary:
The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for the position of Graphic Design full-time faculty. This position reports to the Chair of the Graphic Design Department and is responsible for contributing to the current program of study in interaction and media design. A “three/three” teaching load is required. Additionally, the candidate’s work is expected to demonstrably contribute to the efficient running of the Graphic Design Department.
Job Requirements:
The full-time faculty position in Graphic Design will integrate practice, research, theory, and intellectual inquiry as core components in the process of developing students’ ability to create responsive user experiences. Candidates must have an MFA or international equivalent with teaching experience in an accredited university or college of art and design and/or professional work experience in graphic design, media design and interactive design. Applicants must demonstrate strong design ability combined with media skills; this should be evidenced in an established record of creative accomplishments. The preferred candidate will be able to articulate issues aligned with contemporary design and emerging technologies and practices, and have the ability to foster a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to design and media education.
Subject to final budgetary approval, this position will be filled by the start of the 2013/2014 academic year. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
