Free one-day workshops and campus tours are open to the public.
All workshops will take place at the College for Creative Studies, Walter and Josephine Ford Campus.
Registration is required by October 18.
Choose one of the following workshops:
Drawing for Non-Drawers (APRP 080) FULL
This course covers the fundamentals of drawing for students with little or no previous drawing experience. Start with the basics: sound principles of composition and accurate perspective and rendering techniques.
Digital Figure Drawing (APRP 085) FULL
Learn to use a Wacom tablet for freehand drawing on the computer. Add a clothed model and you’ve got a great opportunity to build both digital and foundation drawing skills!
Figure Drawing (APRP 103) FULL
Use this opportunity to work from a live (nude) model to breathe some life into your portfolio. Workshop is overseen by a faculty member who can answer questions and provide feedback and tips on proportion, composition and figure/space relationships. Automotive Design (APRP 065) FULL
This course introduces students to the aesthetics of automotive design. Students will learn the proper proportion and drawing techniques that are specific to drawing cars.
Product Design with a Purpose (APRP 090) FULL
Good design can help solve the world’s problems. Find out how to think outside what you know and design innovative new products.
Introduction to Interior Design (APRP 105) FULL
Learn and apply core interior design principles for creating one-of-a-kind spaces that visually communicate brand, identity and purpose. Discover unique materials to create innovative design solutions for residential and commercial spaces like hotels, retail stores, office spaces, residences, schools, airports, and auto and boat dealerships.
Images on Metal (APRP 123) FULL
Use found or drawn images to mark and make one-of-a-kind metal jewelry. Make earrings, a bracelet, a pendant or vessel in metal, then use a lightsensitive emulsion process to transfer one or more images onto them.
Graphic Novel (APRP 125) FULL
Learn the various artistic elements of visual storytelling that make up the graphic novel, including Pacing, Rhythm, Composition, Lettering and Acting. Use traditional and digital tools to create comic book pages in either black and white or color.
