We are very excited to have you join our community of creative innovators and makers. Choosing to attend CCS will be one of the biggest and best decisions of your life! Below you will find all of the information you will need as you transition into your life at CCS.

Enrollment Deposit

Incoming undergraduate and graduate students must pay a $250 non-refundable Enrollment Deposit to confirm their intent to enroll.

  • Use your login IDs and password (found on your admission decision letters and in the Student Portal on the Next Steps tab.)
  • International students can also submit the enrollment deposit in their home currency by bank/credit card or bank transfer via FlyWire.
  • Enrollment deposit deadline is May 1, 2024, or as soon as you decide to attend CCS. Knowing the FAFSA delays, certain students and families may need additional time to consider their financial aid award before committing to CCS. Students may request an extension through their Admissions Counselor.

Official Transcripts

All incoming students must submit their final, official transcript prior to the start of their first semester.

Undergraduate (BFA)

All incoming students (first-time first-year and transfer students) must submit final Official High School Transcript (or GED) confirming graduation from high school. See additional details in each section that may be relevant to you.

High School Transcripts

Final Official transcripts must:

  • Include your Full Name and the Name of Your School
  • Confirm your Date of Graduation
  • Must be sent to CCS as an Official document

How to Submit High School Transcripts

CCS prefers electronic submission of Official Transcripts. Use an online method i.e. Parchment, Docufide, etc. Electronic transcript submissions should be directed to: aaro@collegeforcreativestudies.edu.

Homeschool students must submit a final transcript prepared by their educational program manager

Most students can request their own official electronic transcripts through Parchment or official paper documents are acceptable, mail is currently less reliable than electronic delivery.

International Student Transcripts

Final/official secondary school transcripts and graduation certificate or the equivalent exam results should be submitted via an official method (digital or physical) at your earliest convenience. The recommended deadline is July 15, 2023.

How to Submit Transcripts, Graduation Certificate or Exam Results

Transcripts, Graduation Certificate or Exam Results must include the following:

  • Incoming students full name
    • Last (Family) Name and First (Given) Name
  • Official date of graduation/completion of exam

All documentation needs to be translated into English via a professional translation service prior to submitting. Please include all pages and a graduation certificate or statement and send to:

How to Submit Official AP Test Scores

Request Advanced Placement exam results from the College Board and request it be sent to CCS electronically by entering CCS school code is 1035 or contact AP/College Board at 1(888)225.5427.

If you included CCS on your list of colleges to receive your score when you took the exam, CCS should have that score on file, or will receive it when scores become available.

AP Test Scores are reported to CCS electronically only after a student requests the result be released.

College-level Transcripts

Delays in submitting College Transcript(s) or requested Work Samples/Syllabi* to CCS will delay your Fall 2023 Registration and may reduce the chances of getting your preferred schedule.

Submit an official transcript for each College/Institution where college-level credit was earned. This includes Middle College and Early College programs, Dual Enrollment coursework, and summer Precollege programs where college credit was offered/earned.

Transcripts must

  • Include course names, course codes, grade earned and credit value per course
  • Transcripts submitted after July 2 will not be assessed for credit placement prior to the start of classes^

Due Date: ASAP but no later than July 1, 2023
NOTE: Students who have earned college credit FROM CCS do not need to request their CCS transcript.

How to Submit College-level Transcripts

CCS prefers electronic submission of Official Transcripts. Use an online method i.e. Parchment, Docufide, eScriptSafe, Clearinghouse, etc. Electronic transcript submissions should be directed to admissions@collegeforcreativestudies.edu.

Most students can request their own official electronic transcripts through Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse.

Official paper documents are acceptable, but mail is currently less reliable than electronic delivery.

Work Samples and Syllabi for College Credit Evaluation

If your Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) indicates that we still need Work Samples and/or a Syllabus for college-level coursework you have completed outside of CCS, submit those samples/syllabi ASAP via email to your CCS Admissions Counselor.

Due Date: ASAP but no later than July 1, 2023

Transcripts or Work Samples for college-level coursework completed for credit in Summer term must be submitted within five (5) business days of the publication of final grades, and no later than September 1 to be reviewed for credit placement or the credit will be forfeited.

Graduate

Incoming graduate students must submit final/official transcripts via an official method (digital or physical) at their earliest convenience.

International students must provide an English-translated version of their transcript/above documentation.

Orientation

New Student Orientation occurs in the Fall and Winter depending on your admission date and is required for all new undergraduate, graduate, international and transfer students.

Housing

Choose to live in the Art Centre Building, Taubman Center or in the city of Detroit. Apply for housing, grab a meal plan, learn what to bring, and find move in dates on our Housing page.

Laptop Requirements & Recommendations

Communication Design, Advertising Design and all graduate students will be required to own or purchase a laptop computer. CCS also provides recommendations for departments without requirements, as well as laptop support. Check out the Laptop Requirements & Recommendations.
