Alumni Gather to Network and Celebrate Wheir work

This fall, Alumni Relations hosted a number of events designed to connect with alumni locally and nationally. In September, Terese Nehra, director, Alumni Relations and Nina Holden, VP for Institutional Advancement, traveled to Portland, Oregon to host a reception for alumni and friends in the region. The event was a huge hit, and alumni were very enthusiastic about re-connecting with CCS and meeting other former students. Also in September, the second annual Homecoming Alumni Reception and Exhibition took place on the CCS campus. The alumni exhibition featured work by 31 alumni from a variety of majors, with graduation years ranging between 1968 and 2007. The exhibit opened with a private reception for area alumni, and remained on display in the Yamasaki Building for the following two weeks.

In October, CCS President Rick Rogers traveled with Terese Nehra and Larry Erickson, the Paul and Helen Farago Chair of Transportation Design, to southern California to host an event for alumni and corporate partners. The event was graciously hosted by a well-known car enthusiast who opened his private showroom to the College and its guests. Party-goers enjoyed networking and catching up on CCS happenings, while taking in the amazing collection of classic cars, many of which competed in Italy’s famed Mille Miglia races.

Regional events also included a gathering of alumni in Boston, hosted by Director of Student Life Michael Coleman and Assistant Director Dan Long. Approximately 10 alumni joined together at a pub on Boston’s infamous Newbury Street. The alumni were delighted to connect with each other and are hoping to find other former students and start a Boston alumni network.
