Alumni Exhibitions
Jocelyn Rainey (FA ’96) commemorated the 10th year of her gallery with an exhibition featuring new, small works by artists who have exhibited at the jRainey Gallery since its inception. The roster of artists included several CCS alumni and featured a variety of drawings, paintings, sculpture and photography. jRainey Gallery has served the contemporary arts community for 10 years, showcasing local, national and international artists. Julie Russell-Smith (FA ’80) was part of an exhibition at Community Arts @ Paramount Gallery this fall. His and Hers: Study within was part of a series of exhibitions highlighting the work of couples who have been creating distinct work while influencing each other’s ideas and processes. Taurus Burns (FA ’02) was featured in an exhibition at the Bureau of Urban Living in Detroit. He showed 29 of his Detroit cityscape paintings, including one that was included in the film Butterfly Effect 3, filmed in Detroit last year. To see some of Taurus’ work, please visit www.paintDetroit.com.

Fred Moss (GC ‘98) was part of the 9th Annual National Juried Exhibition of the American Impressionist Society. His painting, ‘Rose Garden,’ was one of the featured works in the prestigious show. Additionally, Fred’s painting, ‘Waterfront Museum,’ was part of a group show entitled, ‘Chicago,’ at the Karen Solem Gallery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
