Alumni Exhibitions

Andrea Kowch (IL ’09) is now represented by the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in New York where she was recently shown in the exhibition “The Art of Consciousness.” Now 24, Andrea was exhibiting work at the age of 20 at Washington DC’s Capitol Hill and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, New York City’s Diane von Furstengerg Gallery, and Miami’s Margulies Collection. Stephen Magsig (GC-IL '74) was in a solo exhibition at David Klein Gallery in Birmingham through June 18.

Jeffrey Tranchell (FA ‘05) is currently showing in a solo exhibition at John Connelly Presents in New York City. The exhibition runs through June 25. The exhibition featured emerging artists with their work documenting an intervention or manipulation with plants and landscapes. Starkweather Arts Center’s (Romeo, MI) June exhibition, “This is My Wish for You,” featured a new collection of works by Kat Thacker (GC-IL ’85) and Kristin Barr (GC ’96). This collection of work was inspired by a gift book of the same name written in 1914 by Charles Livingston Snell.

Assunta Sera (FA ’80) is featured in a solo exhibition called “Contours and Constellations” at the Michael Ingbar Gallery in New York City. Stemming from her interest in landscapes and aerial views, Assunta’s new paintings utilize the visual language of contours and marry them with Sera’s fascination for physics and the universe. The exhibition will be on display through June 30.

Brooke Davis (ID, PH ’98), who currently serves as the chair of the IDSA Furniture Section, showed her latest collection of work during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair this past May. View Brooke’s work on her website: http://www.brookemdavisdesign.com/

The work of Alice Smith (CR-GL‘00) and Taurus Burns (FA ’02) was featured this spring in an exhibition titled, “Dialogues: Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture,” at Sherry Washington Gallery in Detroit.

Diana Alva (CR ’01) and Matthew Hanna (FA ’86) were two of five artists featured in the recent exhibition “Face It 5 – A Portrait Exhibition” on the “Git Outta My Face” online gallery. Check out images at http://www.gitouttamyface.com/FaceIt5.html.
