A new year is upon us…St. Patrick’s Day is on the horizon…winter is almost over (hopefully)…and it is time for another edition of The Creative Outlet.
CCS Alumnus joins Board of Trustees
Ralph Gilles (ID-TR ’92) has joined the College for Creative Studies Board of Trustees. Gilles holds the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, Dodge Car Brand, as well as Product Design Senior Vice President, at Chrysler Group LLC. He has been with Chrysler since 1992, when he joined the company as a designer. Over the past 18 years, Gilles has risen through Chrysler’s ranks, even as the company transitioned through multiple owners and CEOs. For the full story, click here.

Passings
CCS is saddened by the loss of Mark Hayosh (GC-GD ’89) who passed away in February. Mark, known by many as ‘Rocket Man,’ was an artist, musician and songwriter. He will be missed by his adoring family and great friends.
Opportunities for Alumni
The city of Northville, MI is currently accepting submissions for its first film festival, which will take place June 26-27. The primary qualification for submission is that the piece must be appropriate for family-friendly viewing. They prefer shorts (30 minutes or less), but are accepting submissions of all lengths and genres, including animation & fine art film projects. The Crafts Emergency Relief Fund (CERF), with support from a number of arts organizations and foundations, has developed a resource for artists following the devastation of hurricane Katrina. It is a preparedness toolkit called "Studio Protector," which connects to an interactive website and is designed to help artists prepare for and prevent loss from natural disasters, fires, and so on.
