The College for Creative Studies hosts entirely unique fundraising events in southeast Michigan, which are among the most successful nationwide. A 26-year tradition, the Detroit International Wine Auction is the College's premier fundraising event and among elite functions of its kind in the nation. In 2007, through two weekend events, more than $1 million was raised for scholarships and the CCS Community Arts Partnerships program. The Wine Auction is a fixture on southeast Michigan's business and social calendar, providing prominent opportunities to see and be seen. The Student Exhibition Opening reception and sale annually showcase the best student artwork from each CCS department. Proceeds from the art sales go directly to students, while proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships help fund scholarships and community outreach programs.
