CCS Ranked #3 Design School in the United States by Linkedin
In its first-ever rankings of universities across the United States, LinkedIn has named the College for Creative Studies the #3 design school in the country. Among the Top 20 schools on the list, CCS is the highest ranked design school in Michigan and highest-ranked art and design college in the Midwest.
LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network with more than 313 million members in over 200 countries and territories around the globe. “We compiled LinkedIn’s University Rankings to help students identify the schools that are successfully launching graduates into desirable jobs in key industries,” said Christina Allen, LinkedIn’s Director of Product Management. The online network used such higher education resources as University Finder, Field of Study Explorer, Decision Boards and recommendations on University Pages, to compile its rankings.
Analyzing millions of alumni profiles, LinkedIn identified the top companies where designers are choosing to work, then found people on the site who work as designers and saw where they attended school. Finally, for each school, LinkedIn found the percentage of these alumni who have secured design positions at these top companies, then compared the percentages to come up with the final rankings.
CCS graduates secure jobs at the world’s top companies and are routinely sought after for their expertise and problem-solving skills by leaders across industries from automotive—alumni have leadership roles in most of the world’s auto and transportation companies and suppliers—to product design, animation, advertising and beyond. All of the College’s majors emphasize creativity as well as business acumen via course work, internships and corporate sponsored projects. And alumni regularly seek out CCS graduates, creating a powerful employment pipeline.
