Once visual arts projects and arts places are created, CPAD engages its communities in generating and delivering community-based performing arts events and workshops highlighting the arts places created and defined by visual arts projects. CPAD has found that combining the visual and the performing arts can be remarkably successful. Placing performing arts events in spaces defined by large-scale, public visual arts projects effectively breathes life into these sites. Performing arts events activate these places, create an opportunity for residents to discover local talent and connect to their neighborhood’s visual art projects. CPAD has seen how important the role of the performing arts is in providing and perpetuating arts activity over time.
