The Basque Country with Artist and Pilgrim John Corbin

Join artist John Corbin in a conversation about his recent art pilgrimage exploring the Basque Country including Bacon, Balenciaga and Bilbao. Journey from Detroit to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, with a few forced detours due to a ticket purchased through Priceline.com using the Russian Roulette method. Corbin is a Detroit-based artist who received his BFA from Wayne State and his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. While in NYC, he worked for Threadwaxing Space and The Sandra Gering gallery, as well as TravelArt Services. He currently teaches at Oakland University and College for Creative Studies. He’s shown his multimedia work with the Susanne Hilberry Gallery since 1993.

All lectures are held in the Wendell W. Anderson Jr. Auditorium, inside the Walter B. Ford II Building on the CCS campus. Lectures are free and open to the public.
