Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage is an exhibition held at the U245 Student Gallery on campus at the beginning of the school year. The exhibit features the art work of incoming freshman and transfer students who participate in the Award of Excellence Competition (AOE) in February. The opening reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

The AOE Competition offers applied and accepted high seniors an opportunity to submit 10 pieces of their best work for a chance to compete for our highest scholarships. The scholarships are renewable on yearly basis, conditional upon academic performance. The criteria used to determine the nominees include exceptional artistic ability, a strong academic background and the completion of the ACT or SAT test.
