Building on the success of last year's inaugural D Show, advertising professionals gathered at the Max M. Fisher Music Hall on December 3, 2008 to award the best advertising from Detroit. Five CCS Advertising Design students were awarded a D in the student categories.
CCS Advertising Design student Brandi Keeler was recently one of just fourteen students across the United States selected as a winner of the 2008 Most Promising Minority Students/The Home Depot Scholarship. The scholarship is sponsored by The Home Depot and executed by the American Advertising Federation's Mosaic Center on Multiculturalism.
The One Show exhibition will be on display in the Walter B. Ford II Building Atrium on the College for Creative Studies campus from Friday, November 21 through Wednesday, December 3, 2008 hosted by the CCS Advertising Design department.
Rob Strasberg, executive creative director for independent advertising agency Doner, will share his vision for the future of the industry in a free, public lecture on Monday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m., presented by CCS’s Advertising Design department.
CCS Advertising Design student Marcus Morabito was recently awarded a Gold in the Student Advertising/Art Direction Magazine Ad, Consumer category of the 2008 Create Awards. The ad “Rant” was created by Morabito is his Copywriting 1 class.

The Advertising Design department was selected to exhibit student work in the prestigious 14th annual One Club Student Exhibition in New York City, May 5 – 7, 2008.
The Art Directors Club 86th Annual Awards Traveling Exhibition is on display in CCS’ Walter B. Ford II Atrium Tuesday, April 1 through Sunday, April 27.
CCS’s Advertising Design department will showcase two seemingly diverse new media platforms, Reactrix and There in a free lecture on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the Wendell W. Anderson Jr. Auditorium in the Walter B. Ford II Building on the College for Creative Studies campus.
MARS Advertising, of Southfield, has established an annual scholarship competition for students at CCS. The annual competition will award two Advertising Design students a $2,500 scholarship and a paid summer internship at the advertising agency.
