Computer and Technology Recommendations
Although students enrolling at The College for Creative Studies are currently not required to purchase a personal computer to complete their assigned course work at the College; please note that the Graphic Design and Advertising Design Programs strongly recommend that incoming students purchase a laptop computer to optimize their experience in these majors.
The information below provides the hardware configuration and software requirements for incoming students who plan to purchase a laptop before arriving on campus. Students may find that additional software is recommended as they continue in their programs and should be aware of the possibility of different computer needs if they change majors.
If you have any questions about computer or software purchases, please contact either your major department directly or Laurie Evans, Director of Academic Technologies at 313-664-1501 or at levans@collegeforcreativestudies.edu
Be sure to use your educational discount available at Apple Stores or the Apple online educational store and at Dell online with a letter of acceptance or school ID. For software, please visit the CCS bookstore or contact the bookstore at 313.664.5020 for the most competitive educational pricing on software bundles for your initial purchase and for any additional software needs.
