CCS and AIGA Detroit present the Toyota Lecture on Design: Celebrate Michigan Design; celebrating the past, present and future of graphic design in Michigan on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 6:30 – 10:00 p.m. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m.). The event features Edward Fella, Nelson Greer and Ron Rae, prominent design-illustrators who will share their experiences of working in the 60’s Detroit commercial art industry.

Doug Kisor, Graphic Design, chair, was honored with the AIGA Fellow award, at the AIGA Design Legend Gala in New York City on September 18.
AIGA Detroit and CCS’s Graphic Design department are teaming to present the premier of “Beautiful Losers”, a documentary about artists and designers who have affected the art world. The viewing will take place on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 pm. in the Wendell Anderson, Jr. Auditorium of the W.B. Ford II Building on the CCS campus.
Fourteen College for Creative Studies Graphic Design students have been named finalists in the 2008 Imagine Cup Interface Design: Microsoft Silverlight Challenge.
Michigan has had a long-standing and prominent reputation as the home to many great and influential designers and artisans, many of whom have defined past generations and continue to be influential in our state, national, and global economies.
CCS Graphic Design department is pleased to present Capacity TV for a free lecture on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wendell W. Anderson Jr. Auditorium in the Walter B. Ford II Building on the College for Creative Studies campus.
Ann Redner Creative, an international corporate identity design firm owned by CCS alumnus Ann Redner, Graphic Communication ’85, has won the 2007 American Graphic Design Award for creation of a new business announcement for TerraFirma located in Los Angeles. This is the third year in a row that Ann Redner Creative has won this prestigious award.
Basia Rochon ’07, Graphic Design, was named a design winner by CMYK magazine and will have her work showcased in the magazine's winter 2007-08 issue. CMYK is regarded as the most high-profile emerging creative portfolio contest in the nation. The featured project is an IKEA book created by Rochon in her Advanced Visual Communications class taught by Chad Reichert, assistant professor.
Several CCS Graphic Design students recently received awards from the University and College Designers Association.
