Illustration Awards

  • Alyssa Cieslak, Andrea Kowch and Kristina Rafalski had entries selected for CMYK’s Call for Aspiring Creatives 40th issue.

  • Dustin Papow, had his piece, “Bolero,” selected for the Spectrum Annual 14. The Spectrum Annual, established in 1993, showcases the best fantasy, science fiction, horror, and otherwise uncategorizable artwork created each year.

  • James Noellert, Michael Burdick, and Lauren Moyer were accepted into this year’s New York Society of Illustrators’ Juried Student Show. Twenty-five jurors critically looked at 5,683 entries from 88 colleges and jurors selected 130 of the best student illustrations. Mike Burdick was awarded the $1,500 award in memory of Jerry McConnell for his work “The Shape of Punk to Come.” Lauren Moyer was awarded the $500 Friends of Commercial Art Award for her work “Snake Scarf.”

  • Andrea Kowch had work accepted into Spectrum’s Professional Juried Show, which targets fantasy and sci-fi illustration markets.

  • Lauren Moyer won first place in the 19th Annual Hagopian Rug Design Competition and had her winning design transformed into a full-size rug that is displayed at the CCS Student Exhibition. She also received an honorable mention for a second design she submitted to the competition.

  • Anh Phan (Nicole) won third place in the 19th Annual Hagopian Rug Design Competition.
