Foundation Department Summer Guest Student Program

The College for Creative Studies is pleased to offer the Summer Guest Student Program. This program makes the College's exceptional curriculum available to everyone. Students have the opportunity to learn skills in color and design, how to execute their designs in 3D, popular digital design programs, or learn to draw.

By signing up for the Foundation Department Summer Guest Student Program, you’ll learn in a relaxed atmosphere, with reduced class sizes, during a compressed semester. All courses are taught by CCS instructors who are active studio professionals.

This program is designed for

  • Graduating high school students planing to attend CCS this fall - Provides the opportunity to strengthen your skills and lighten your first semester load.
  • High school students entering 12th grade - Develop skills and create work for your college application portfolio. This is a great way to focus on the kind of drawing portfolio that is desired by so many institutions. Students entering 12th grade may earn college credit.
  • Community college students
  • Art students enrolled in four-year college programs
  • Community art students throughout metro Detroit
  • High school art teachers

Foundation Summer Program Courses

The Foundation Summer Program offers courses in:

  • Drawing I: A comprehensive program to develop drawing skills.
  • Drawing II: Drawing the figure.
  • Design Concepts: Courses in 2D and 3D introduce students to the language of design and color theory.
  • 3D Techniques: This course takes students a step further to execute their designs in the wood and metal shops.
  • Digital Fundamentals: Learn design programs including Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator.

Guest students should complete the Guest (Non-Matriculating) form for Summer 2012. Mail the form and your payment by May 29, 2012 to:
