Alum Fadi Pataq helps launch superyacht
CCS transportation design alum Fadi Pataq was on hand in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emiratesat, for the launching of the superyacht Yas. The launching was the first for Pataq who contributed to the exterior design of the project. Pataq, who was named Young Designer of the Year in 2008 by Superyacht, credits CCS with providing him with the work ethic needed to achieve his goals.

MFA student lands Furencia internship
MFA student Brook Banham was selected by Faurecia as its internship winner based on his work provided for the General Motors (GM) Interactive Design Competition. Brook focused his concepts on the GMC brand and for his efforts gets to choose an internship at Faurecia’s design studio in North America, Europe or Asia.

CCS students dominate GM design competition
Students from CCS claimed 5 of the 8 top spots in General Motors (GM) Interactive Design Competition as announced at the 2012 North American International Automotive Show. Over 300 students from across the United States and Canada entered the competition, launched in spring 2011.

CCS auto show involvement featured in Huffington Post
After spending over an hour talking to CCS students and faculty at the College’s booth at this year’s North American International Auto Show, Huffington Post reporter Kate Abbey-Lambertz walked away very impressed with what CCS’s Transportation Design department is doing.

CCS students partner with Visteon, OSRAM on future vehicle lighting concepts
When education and practical application merge, the results can be astounding. That was the aim of the College for Creative Studies (CCS), Visteon and OSRAM in their collaboration during the 2011/2012 academic year. As part of CCS’s ongoing Corporate Sponsorship program, 18 CCS Transportation Design Seniors researched areas of innovation focused on the development of new exterior automotive lighting and styling concepts with representatives from Visteon and OSRAM.

Michelin announces winners of 23rd annual College for Creative Studies Design Competition
Michelin announced the winning entries of the 23rd Annual Michelin Design Competition for the College for Creative Studies (CCS) and presented $22,400 in scholarships at a reception held at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education at CCS in Detroit. Winning CCS transportation students received trophies, scholarships and an invitation to display their designs in the Michelin Challenge Design exhibit at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) Jan. 9-22, 2012.
