Internship Program

CCS recognizes the benefits of participating in an internship experience. Not only do students work alongside industry professionals in a real world setting, they gain confidence in their ability and begin building professional networks.

The Internship Program allows qualified students to earn academic credit while gaining first-hand experience in their chosen fields. Internships are available to students with a junior or senior ranking – although it is never too early to begin researching opportunities. Internship listings are available in the Career Services online Job Book.

Benefits students gain by participating in an Internship include:

  • Using classroom skills in a real-world employment situation
  • Learning new skills from professionals in one's chosen field
  • Gaining first-hand work experience prior to graduation
  • Networking with professionals, which may lead to future employment opportunities
  • Defining career goals

In addition to internships, an array of companies and organizations sponsor various projects, giving CCS students exposure to real art and design problems and a feel for deadline pressures, client meetings, and budgets. While exploring solutions and interacting in the business world, students learn to become professionals. This close working relationship reaps many benefits for both students and businesses.

Internship Requirements: Internships are available to students with a junior or senior ranking who have completed freshman and sophomore studios. Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.8. Transfer students can intern after meeting the above requirements and completing one full semester at CCS. Students applying for an internship must have their portfolios reviewed and approved by a full-time faculty member in their department before applying.
