McGee to give public lecture at CCS on Wednesday, March 31 at 7 p.m.
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers announced today the National Award winners from The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2010. This year, more than 10,000 regional Gold Keys were reviewed by panels of professionals in the visual and literary arts. Judges selected 1,000 works to receive National Gold Medals, Silver Medals and American Visions & Voices Medals.
CCS Entertainment Arts alumnus, Jamie Surgener, ‘09, won the Best Editing award for his film AVABOT at the Detroit Independent Film Festival (DIFF). AVABOT was created by Surgener as his senior thesis project at CCS.
The work of CCS Illustration department students, faculty and alumni will be exhibited in Art Under The Influence, March 5 – 27 at the Northville Art House.
In support of the 23rd Annual Dick Purtan Radiothon, Jose Sulaica, a senior Fine Arts and Art Education student at CCS designed artwork for a commemorative, collectible bread plate that served as the special incentive for donors who gave $240 more during this year’s Radiothon.
CCS alumnus John Carlson, ‘04 Advertising Design, recently received a Gold Racie award for his work on a direct mail piece celebrating Art Van’s 50th Anniversary Gala.
