2007 Michigan National Portfolio Day Design Competition

The Admissions Department is sponsoring a competition for the 2007 Michigan National Portfolio Day design. The competition is open to all CCS students and the winning designer will be awarded $300.00. Deadline for submissions is March 26th. Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage, an exhibition featuring the art work of incoming Award of Excellence participants, will run from September 4th through September 14th in the U245 Student Gallery during regular gallery business hours. An opening reception honoring Rites of Passage will be held on Tuesday, September 4th, from 2-6 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.

CCS Receives Skillman Foundation Grant to Develop Neighborhood Arts Programs

CCS has been awarded a Skillman Foundation grant for $300,000 through its "Good Neighborhoods Initiative." CCS's Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program will receive $150,000 per year for two years to enhance high-quality neighborhood arts programs in two of Skillman's target Detroit neighborhoods - Brightmoor on the west side and Osborn on the east.
