Oakwood has once again teamed up with CCS's students to create new uses for expanded metal, metal speaker grilles, and powder coated assemblies
This past fall, thirteen College for Creative Studies (CCS) transportation design and product design students were challenged to create concepts for applications of expanded metal and powder-coated technologies and processes.

CCS Transportation Design students work with Crown Equipment Company to design new forklifts
“The students were not limited to any one of our product segments so we assembled a team of highly experienced Crown designers to represent a broad spectrum of our current product line. The idea was to give the students as comprehensive feedback as possible. Getting out of the office is always a welcome break but we all think our time spent with these students was like getting our batteries recharged. We definitely had fun with this project,” says Craig Rekow, Senior Project Industrial Designer at Crown Equipment.

CCS's Entertainment Arts Reel Deal = Real Opportunity
On March 23, over 44 students shared their entertainment arts-related work with over 20 studios/potential employers as part of the department’s second annual Reel Deal career event. Several guests stayed on campus after the show to discuss career and internship opportunities with students and visit classrooms.
