    CCS’ community+public arts: Detroit (C+PAD) is hosting an information session for artist interested in being listed in their artist roster on Wednesday, January 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Arts League of Michigan, Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts Center (311 East Grand River Avenue, Detroit).

  3. 05 Oct 2009 CCS' community + public arts Detroit (CPAD) partners with Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and CAID to create graffiti murals

    The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy partnered with Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit (CAID) and the College for Creative Studies’ community + public arts DETROIT (CPAD) on a graffiti project along the Dequindre Cut Greenway. The group worked with four of Detroit’s most respected and influential graffiti artists to create original murals available for public viewing along the greenway. The initiative was made possible with support from Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

  4. 07 May 2009 Free public events in May feature Community Arts projects in Detroit and across the United States

    Community arts are proving to be a potent force in neighborhood development in Detroit and across the nation. Two upcoming free public events will highlight the community and public art projects completed through the community + public arts: DETROIT (CPAD) program, provide examples of how similar projects have impacted other areas of the country and provide community members with the tools they need to get involved in their neighborhood.

    Recognizing that public art is a vital part to any vibrant community the Skillman, JP Morgan Chase and Kresge foundations have funded community+public arts: DETROIT Initiative (CAPD). The initiative is coordinated by the College for Creative Studies (CCS) Community Arts Partnerships office.

  7. 02 Oct 2008 CCS’s CAP office embarks on new collaboration with Mosaic Youth Theatre

    CCS’s Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program has developed a new program with the Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit to train members of Mosaic's Technical Crew in the areas of Theatre Arts & Design. Students that participate in the program will design the sets for Mosaic’s production of Crossing 8 Mile this May.
