CCS opens new Taubman Center to the public for its annual Student Exhibition Opening Reception and Sale on May 14, 2010
5/14/10
For the past 85 years, the College for Creative Studies has transformed its campus in the heart of Detroit’s Cultural Center into the ultimate gallery experience with the annual Student Exhibition. On May 14, 2010 CCS’ new A. New this year, over 50 pieces of work done by 6, 7, and 9th grade students at Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies will also be on display.
The Opening Reception provides attendees with the exclusive opportunity to purchase artwork before the show opens to the public and with all proceeds from art sales going to the students to help them jump-start their art and design careers - the prices can’t be beat. All of this against the backdrop of the innovative educational community that is the Taubman Center with music provided by local bands and hors d’oeuvres and cocktails provided by area restaurants.
Tickets for the Collectors’ Preview & Private Reception from 5:30 – 10 p.m., are $350. General Admission tickets are $50 and provide admission from 7 – 10 p.m. New this year, CCS alumni that reserve in advance can purchase 2 tickets for $60 and also attend the private alumni reception from 7 – 10 p.m.
