FREE one-day workshops for precollege students planning to attend National Portfolio Day on Sunday, October 31. Experience a college classroom and create some new work for your portfolio.

Interior Design
APRP 105 A
Create a unique interior space by working with interior architecture and space planning, creating a color history and final presentation boards.

Life Drawing
APRP 103 A
Work from a live (nude) model to breathe some life into your portfolio. Workshop is overseen by a faculty member and senior undergrad who can answer questions, provide feedback and tips on proportion, composition and figure/space relationships. Students 17 and under must turn in a Consent form with parent’s signature before or at check in. Download Consent Form.

Digital Illustration
APRP 106 A
Combine traditional hand illustration skills with  digital rendering techniques to create finished digital format works. Illustration, Adobe Illustrator used in conjunction with Wacom tablets.

Metalworking: Pewter Casting
APRP 107 A
Fabricate an object, jewelry or small vessel in pewter using a carved cuttlefish bone and casting technique.

Product Design: Lowriders
APRP 108 A
Use product and transportation design principles to design a lowrider. Concept development, ideation sketching and rapid visual communication and drawing techniques will be reviewed.

Photography: Digital Darkroom
APRP 109 A
Work with existing images to create new ones using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Scanning, composition, artistic intent, basic color printing techniques will be covered. Bring 5-10 of your original digital images with you.

Animation: ZBrush
APRP 110 A
Develop and create digital 3D characters for games using the industry-standard software and Cintiq® tablets.
Workshops are available on a first-come, first-served basis and do not carry college credit.
Space is limited to 15 students per workshop.

Most materials will be supplied, but students should bring a 17x24” pad of newsprint paper and drawing pencils.
A box lunch* will be provided.

*We apologize, but are unable to accommodate specific dietary needs, though a vegetarian option will be available.
