Finishing Up - Graduation
You've accomplished a great deal — it's time to celebrate your hard work and dedication to reach your academic goals and honing your artistic skills. Preparations begin early in the year to ensure you have met your graduation requirements and to plan the commencement ceremony. Questions about graduation requirements should be directed to the Academic Advising and Registration Office. Any questions regarding the commencement ceremony should be directed to the Student Affairs Office at (313) 664-7879 or ude.seidutsevitaercrofegelloc@efiltneduts.
Application for graduation should be turned in to the Registration Office for students who plan on graduating in May. There is a $100.00 application fee for undergraduate students and $150.00 fee for graduate students. Applications for May graduation are due by January 30, 2015. A $25.00 late fee will apply to applications received after the January 30th deadline.

December Graduation & Commencement
Congratulations to our December graduates! We are proud of their accomplishments and are excited to see what the future holds for them. We will celebrate this great achievement with a Commencement ceremony and reception.
Date: Wednesday, December 16, 2015
Location: Taubman Center, 11th floor – Benson and Edith Ford Conference Center
Time: The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m.
A reception for all graduates and their families will be held following the Commencement Ceremony. There will be a collection of graduating students’ work on display and light refreshments will be available. Free parking is available in the CCS Parking Structure.
Important Information for Graduates:
- Application for Graduation should be turned in to the Academic Advising and Registration office for students who plan on graduating in December, 2015. There is a $100.00 application fee for undergraduates and a $150.00 fee for students graduating with a Master’s Degree. Applications are due by Thursday, October 1st.
- Graduates will wear academic apparel (a cap and gown) for the ceremony. Academic apparel can be picked up in the Student Affairs Office (2nd floor of the Yamasaki) on or after Wednesday, November 18, 2015. On that day, graduates will also receive cords to wear during the ceremony which signifies their specific major and/or minor department(s).
- Graduating Seniors will also be asked to provide one piece of artwork to display during the graduation reception. Artwork should be labeled with the student’s name and phone number and brought to the Student Affairs office (2nd floor Yamasaki) starting on November 18, 2015 but no later than Friday, December 4, 2015.

CCS Custom Diploma Frames
Custom diploma frames are available through the Office of Student Affairs. There are two options: a classic black frame with gold trim and a contemporary black frame. Both come with a custom double mat in black and gold with the College seal and name embossed in gold. The frames are designed specifically to hold a CCS diploma.
The cost of each frame is $70 if they are purchased on campus and $85 if they need to be shipped. These prices reflect the actual costs.

I-94 ramp closures for bridge work [Now – October 30, 2015]
Note to I-94 traffic: John R/Woodward ramps, east and west will be closed until October 30, 2015 for MDOT I-94 bridge work. Alternative routes advised. I-75 is the suggested detour during demolition.
