CCS alumna's watercolor is featured on Mackinac Race poster
"A painting by a local artist will be the face of the Port Huron-to-Mackinac race this year. It is the first time that an existing painting is being used for posters and T-shirts being produced for the July 24 Bells Beer Bayview Mackinac Race."

The School of Critical Engagement and the CCS's Fine Arts department to hold a workshop
The School of Critical Engagement and the College for Creative Studies' Fine Arts Department will hold a workshop for the week of May 16th, 2011 that will challenge participating CCS students to question how Detroit's public spaces are experienced through the lenses of both youth and elders in the community.

Leon Johnson, the chair of CCS' Fine Arts department, has been nominated for the 2010 New England Art Awards, organized by The New England Journal of Aesthetic Research to honor the best art made in New England.

CCS's Woodward Lecture Series would like to welcome Leon Johnson on Thursday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
As a part of the Woodward Lecture Series, the new Chair of CCS's Fine Arts Department, Leon Johnson, will discuss his vision for connecting art and community. The lecture is October 28, 7 p.m., held in the Wendell W. Anderson Jr. Auditorium in the Walter B. Ford II Building on the Walter and Josephine Ford Campus.

CCS Fine Arts student designs special incentive for the 23rd annual Dick Purtan Radiothon to benefit the Salvation Army
In support of the 23rd Annual Dick Purtan Radiothon, Jose Sulaica, a senior Fine Arts and Art Education student at CCS designed artwork for a commemorative, collectible bread plate that served as the special incentive for donors who gave $240 more during this year’s Radiothon.
