In support of the 23rd Annual Dick Purtan Radiothon, Jose Sulaica, a senior Fine Arts and Art Education student at CCS designed artwork for a commemorative, collectible bread plate that served as the special incentive for donors who gave $240 more during this year’s Radiothon.

On December 15th, the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) and Let's Save Michigan issued an open call to artists, illustrators, and graphic designers for original posters to inspire Michiganders to revive their state. CCS students, faculty, and alumni answered that call with 13 selected out of over 300 entries as finalists.

During the 10th anniversary Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) Design Challenge, sophomore Transportation Design students at CCS designed vehicle concepts that address the functional needs of a lifestyle vehicle buyer while showing the versatility of glass in providing unique styling as well as utility, comfort and convenience.

This spring student mentors from CCS are teaming up with design mentors from General Motors to introduce vehicle design to 112 art students from 11 Detroit Public high schools in the "You Make a Difference" program. The program was established in 2006 to introduce students to careers available in the creative industries, specifically vehicle design.
