  4. 22 Mar 2010 Department Highlights - Graphic Design

    Graphic Design students are fundraising for a New York studio tour in March. Fi David Reinfurt, founder of O R G of New York, will host a ThinkShop with Graphic Design students this month. In late spring, Filter Detroit will host a group of students and PhD candidates as well as faculty members of architecture (urban heritage and urban development) and art and design from the Bauhaus University Weimar in Germany for a project named “Research Trip to Detroit.” Nina Bianchi, adjunct faculty, is working with the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition.

  5. 24 Feb 2010 CCS students, faculty and alumni selected as finalists in Detroit Institute of Arts and Let's Save Michigan Poster Contest

    On December 15th, the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) and Let's Save Michigan issued an open call to artists, illustrators, and graphic designers for original posters to inspire Michiganders to revive their state. CCS students, faculty, and alumni answered that call with 13 selected out of over 300 entries as finalists.

  6. 19 May 2009 Winners of the 2009 CCS Alumni Scholarship Competition announced

    The Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 1983 with a gift from married alumni who met while taking the same class at CCS. Throughout the years the fund has been maintained by gifts from many CCS alumni. CCS freshman, sophomore and junior students enrolled full-time are annually invited to enter the competition, which asks for 3 images of recent work and a statement of intent. This year the competition received 50 entries.

  8. 02 Apr 2009 The Sneaker Project exhibition features work of CCS Product Design, Graphic Design and Photography students

    In conjunction with the NCAA 2009 Men’s Final Four tournament weekend, The Boll Family YMCA will host its second annual multi-media basketball exhibit, called The Sneaker Project. The four-day event, which begins with an opening reception on Friday, April 3 at 6 p.m., and runs through Monday, April 6, celebrates the influence of the sneaker in basketball, design, and as a major cultural influence with today’s youth.

    CCS and AIGA Detroit present the Toyota Lecture on Design: Celebrate Michigan Design; celebrating the past, present and future of graphic design in Michigan on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 6:30 – 10:00 p.m. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m.). The event features Edward Fella, Nelson Greer and Ron Rae, prominent design-illustrators who will share their experiences of working in the 60’s Detroit commercial art industry.
