Build Our Future
Making a major capital gift to CCS furthers our ongoing growth and will secure your legacy as a passionate supporter of the creative spirit. Reflecting the magnitude of their generosity, CCS honors its major donors with on–campus visibility in perpetuity by associating them with facilities vital to our present and future.
Below are examples of past capital gifts:
Josephine F. Ford Sculpture Garden
In 2005, the College dedicated the Josephine F. Ford Sculpture Garden, made possible through a $2 million contribution from Mrs. Josephine Ford, and transformed campus with a collaborative project with the Detroit Institute of Arts. The sculpture garden serves as the connecting centerpiece of the CCS campus, welcoming all and providing a peaceful, public art space in our unique urban setting.
Walter B. Ford II Building
Named in honor of the man who gave tirelessly of his time, leadership and support to CCS, the Walter B. Ford II Building was funded by a previously unprecedented $20 million gift from Mrs. Josephine Ford in 1997 and named in memory of her husband. This elegant building is home to the College's prestigious design programs.
Manoogian Visual Resources Center
Following a significant $5 million pledge from the Richard and Jane Manoogian Foundation, the Manoogian Visual Resource Center was named in 2006 to recognize the Foundation's ongoing commitment and service to CCS, its students, faculty and staff.
Pierre and Margaret Heftler Rose Garden
Beautiful and fragrant, the Pierre and Margaret Heftler Rose Garden is a lovely accent to the CCS campus. Acknowledging a $500,000 gift to the College, this stunning array of roses reflects the creative culture of CCS. The blooms that continually renew through the spring and summer elicit the creative spirit that has emerged from CCS for more than a century.
