College for Creative Studies: Copywriting
As a student in the advertising design program, Sam Ajluni never imagined that someday he’d emerge as one of the biggest players in the industry.
Since entering the field, Ajluni has been a driving force behind national advertisements, commercials and campaigns for Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Harley Davidson, Coleman, Hush Puppies, Comedy Central, Little Caesars, Warner Brother Studios and Mercedes Benz. He’s garnered international recognition from Cannes, London International and The New York Festivals and been the recipient of a Mobius Award and numerous CADDY and Promo Awards.
Today, Ajluni is a creative consultant to several local clients, including Rossi Motors and Clear Magazine, on creative direction, marketing, branding and online presence among other aspects of the business.
“When I get involved, it usually develops into more than just creating an ad or logo,” said Ajluni. “My career has provided me with the experience to offer input in other areas of the industry as well. For example, as part of a recent project, I consulted with a client on vehicle design.
“Advertising is a competitive, yet exciting business. I was fortunate to learn from instructors who also happened to be working professionals; their thorough knowledge of the local industry is what prepared me best for the ‘real world.’”
In addition to consulting, Ajluni has held positions of senior vice president and group creative director at BBDO Detroit and creative director at FCB Worldwide, Bozell Worldwide and Leo Burnett.
