Susan Moran


Research interests include world textile techniques, both traditional and contemporary.


Susan Moran has been an adjunct faculty member at CCS since 1986. She teaches in both the Crafts and Foundation departments, as well as in the Wayne State Univ. College of Fine and Performing Arts. She also teaches workshops and lectures widely in Michigan and beyond.

Significant publications/presentations/exhibitions/projects:

Recent exhibitions include solo shows at the Oliver Center for the Arts, Frankfort MI and the Carnegie Center for the Arts in Three Rivers MI. She has had recent 2 person shows at the Northville Art House, Northville MI, and River Gallery, Chelsea MI. Group shows include "Contemporary Art of Shibori and Ikat," Oaxaca Mexico, "World of Threads," Oakville Ontario, "Horror Vacui," University of Michigan (Grand Prize), and "Pushing the Surface," Johnson Humrickhouse Museum, Conshocton OH. Commissions and collections include the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, Univ. of Michigan Medical School, United Technologies Automotive, and the Michigan Horticultural Society. Recent artist residencies include projects with the Legacy Land Conservancy of Southeast Michigan and Maker Works Ann Arbor.
