Born and raised in the Detroit area, Maureen Vachon graduated from the University of Michigan in 1983 with a BFA in drawing. She continued to draw and paint in her postgraduate years in Boston, experimenting with monotypes and large scale ink wash drawings. Returning to Detroit in 1992, she earned her MFA in drawing from Wayne State University and began regularly exhibiting her satirical colored pencil drawings both locally and nationally. Her exhibition record includes shows in the Midwest and Southeastern United States.
