James Hart has traveled extensively, lecturing and presenting in Ann Arbor, New York, Paris, Moscow, Oaxaca and Detroit.
His film, video and performance work has been collected in the archive of Franklin Furnace, an organization whose mission is to present, preserve and advocate on behalf of avant-garde art.
The platform of Hart’s teaching is one that carries mixed elements of: history, literature, philosophy, religion, art history, economics, music (folk, popular, jazz and experimental) and critical thinking. In addition to teaching at CCS and Wayne State University, he has published numerous article and reviews. He also enjoys planning drums in and around Detroit.
