Katherine Vicars is an art history instructor in the Department of Liberal Arts where she teaches courses such as Art & Ages of Discovery as well as Mythology and Iconography.
In addition to teaching, Katherine has worked in various capacities at fine auction houses such as Christie’s in Los Angeles, Neal Auction Company in New Orleans and Dumouchelles located here in Detroit. Her specialty is in decorative arts and the Venetian Renaissance. Vicars’s experience working in the art field, combined with utilizing new strategies in cooperative learning and advanced classroom technologies, has provided a great foundation for her to create successful and engaging online courses.
