Toby Millman is a printmaker and photographer and also works with audio recording, paper cutting and book arts. Her most recent work explores issues of mapping, borders and identity as they relate to geopolitics and civil society in and around Palestine, and she has lived in Ramallah, East Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and internationally at the Gallerie SAW Gallery in Ottawa, Canada, the Festival International d’Art Vidéo in Casablanca, Morocco and the AC Institute in New York. She has been an artist in residence at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, the Women’s Studio Workshop in upstate New York, and the Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. Her artist books are in numerous public collections including the Getty Research Institute, the Miriam and Ira Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs: Print Collection at the New York Public Library, Special Collections Librari es at Harvard, Columbia and Yale Universities, and the Art and Ethnography Museum at Birzeit University. She currently lives in Hamtramck.
