Joanne Healy

Joanne Healy joined College for Creative Studies in 2009 to spearhead the launch of the Graduate Studies division at College for Creative Studies. In the past six years, she has established four accredited programs in Integrated Design, Transportation Design, Color + Materials Design and Interactive Design. As Dean and Professor of Graduate Studies, Healy oversees the strategic direction of the Master of Fine Arts programs, preparing an international student body for successful careers in design. In collaboration with the graduate faculty, she guides the development of new curricula and oversees collaborative opportunities with industry partners and other academic institutions. Healy has conducted lectures and workshops on design worldwide and organized the College’s own inaugural CCS Summit series. She currently serves as a visiting evaluator for the National Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Healy’s achievement as an educator is informed by over two decades of experience in the areas of brand management, corporate communications, and environmental and interactive design. Prior to joining CCS, she served as Vice President of the Interactive Strategies Group at T. Rowe Price Associates, an investment management firm in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was responsible for strategic direction as well as new online product and service initiatives. Healy led online initiatives that received accolades in the New York Times, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. Prior to T. Rowe Price Associates, Healy was a Managing Director in the consulting firm Optima Group in Fairfield, Connecticut, leading the creative department in the development of award-winning marketing campaigns, specializing in the investment management and financial services industries. Healy received her BA at Wesleyan University and MFA in Graphic Design at Yale University.
