Zach Whitaker grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio by parents that were elementary teachers. After graduating high school, Whitaker moved to Detroit to pursue a degree in automotive design. While at CCS, Whitaker was given the opportunity to intern at Altair product design and Ford Motor Company. After his junior year, Whitaker traveled to Paris, France to study design at Strate College for a semester abroad. While there he traveled to multiple boarding countries exploring much that Europe has to offer. Upon graduating, he worked for Solid thinking as well as American Specialty Cars before landing a job at General Motors technical center. First working on component design and now in the interior studio, Whitaker has been able to work on many parts of the interior. His first production car the Cadillac Escalade will be coming out October 7, 2013. Whitaker enjoys art and design, cycling, playing golf and being immersed into new cultures and events. He enjoys being challenged and challenging others. He looks forward to helping his students explore and learn the skills they will need for their design career ahead.
